During a great war between the Nephites and Lamanites, those people of King Lamoni who had been converted and promised never to take up arms again, were tempted to break their promise to help their protectors, the Nephites. Helaman convinced them to keep their promise not to fight but their young men had not made such a promise (being too young at the time). Two thousand and sisty of these faithful young men joined the ranks of the Nephites under the command of Helaman.
What these strippling warriors lacked in skill and training was more than made up for in courage, obedience and faith. They fought with great power and although all were eventually wounded, none of them died in battle.
